Curry rice? Navy burgers?.. the 'Junko Taco' has done damage no fast-food can repair.. This is a time for naked sushi; some wholesome slow food. ;)

pig eaters

Postby cot faulking » Mon Nov 24, 2008 1:07 pm

The crap food at Yokosuka is unreal. Everything contains pork in it. If you are a vegan then you'll starve. If you have standards above street hooker than same.

Americans sacrifice quality for quantity too quickly. Everything around the Navy base is cheep, quick, over done, fatty, and sloppy.

And the poor Mayor had to sample a Navy burger. That's definitely a sacrifice he'll be able to put in front of his constituents to show how much he's suffered.

Popeyes chicken doesn't contain pork, it contains beef fat. What do you think they fry it in, chicken fat? If you're a vegetarian and order green beans at Popeyes, it has ham and pork fat added to it.

From their website's "nutrition statement" (yes those are "ironic quotes")

Shortening (All of Popeyes fried items are prepared in the following shortening. This product contains some naturally occurring trans fats.)
BEEF TALLOW, PARTIALLY HYDROGENATED SOYBEAN OIL, PARTIALLY HYDROGENATED BEEF TALLOW, BHT ADDED TO HELP PROTECT FLAVOR, CITRIC ACID, AND DIMETHYLPOLYSILOXANE, AN ANTIFOAMING AGENT

you don't fry your green beans in lard? Pork fat makes everything better! But there is no pork in beef fat, so popeyes chicken does not "contain pork in it". I never said anything about their sides. I do kinda wonder why he singled out pork. Only muslims and jews worry about pork, vegans don't eat meat of any kind.

But I think you'd end up eating meat of some sort, so vegans couldn't do that. :p

Mixing meats is also forbidden. So it doesn't matter if it's pork fat, beef fat, camel fat, horse fat, rat fat, or the next ingenious concoction the Navy will bless us with next.

Don't trust the food at Yokosuka or anything wuchan orders when you go out with him.

Also there are different types of vegans. Some eat fish. Your ignorance is shining through a tadbit.

Yokosuka eateries add U.S. burgers

Yokosuka eateries add U.S. burgers
YOKOSUKA, Kanagawa Pref. (Kyodo) Restaurants in Yokosuka, Kanagawa Prefecture, began offering a hamburger Friday based on a recipe from the U.S. Navy to help it attract tourists and promote friendship between the city and the military base.

The Yokosuka Navy Burger is available at four restaurants chosen by the city, which wants to promote it as a local specialty. Six other restaurants will begin putting it on their menus by mid-February.

The burger features a 200-gram ground beef patty but with less salt and sauce than other burgers so customers can fully savor the flavor of the beef, the restaurants say. Each restaurant also uses a secret ingredient.

Among the four restaurants is Tsunami, a Mexican restaurant just in front of the base, which also serves an extra-large burger called the George Washington, after the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier that was deployed to Yokosuka last September.

"I want people to come to Yokosuka to taste it," said Shigeru Iida, the 55-year-old owner of the restaurant.

Er..no. A vegan:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Veganism
Veganism is a diet and lifestyle that seeks to exclude the use of animals for food, clothing, or any other purpose. Vegans endeavor not to use or consume animal products of any kind. The most common reasons for becoming a vegan are an ethical commitment or moral conviction concerning animal rights, the environment, human health, and spiritual or religious concerns.Of particular concern to many vegans are the practices involved in factory farming and animal testing, and the intensive use of land and other resources required for animal farming

You are confusing vegetarianism with veganism. No vegans eat fish or animal products of any kind. Actually vegetarians in the strictest sense of the word do not eat any meat or fish. However, I do know that you often meet these wankers who claim that they are vegetarian, but they'll eat fish. That is a form of semi-vegetarian diet and it is called pescetarianism.

Or the so-called vegetarians that make exceptions for eggs and milk products just baffles the hell out of me.

Eggs and milk aren't meat.

What about the vegetarians who wear leather Birkenstocks? They're still vegetarians as long as they don't eat their footwear.

No but they are animal products. Vegans won't eat them. Octo-Lacto Vegetarians will eat them though.

Vegans are a bit extreme. Not quite Fruitarian though.

I thought, for a moment today, that I accidentally ran across a picture of the elusive Octo-Lacto Vegetarian. But then I counted carefully and realized this is the even more rare Nona-Lacto species!

Image

So anyway, you're saying this thing doesn't eat hamburgers?
