'Is Waseda Worth It?'

Finally, here's an honest and well-written appraisal of going to Waseda for an "education". Image

So you're thinking about coming to Waseda, huh? It sounds pretty good on paper; it's the best private school in the country (and school ranking means a lot here), you'll get an "international education" (do you know what that means?), and you'll learn Japanese (kind of...more on that later). If you're entertaining the thought of applying to SILS for either a 1- or 4-year study abroad, read on....[/INDENT]

The written word is so lifeless. I think what you were really going for KJ was something like this.

Come to think of it, it depends. Which club/circle were you thinking of spending 4 years 24/7 with?

There's an initial shyness, but as long as everyone joins in, I don't see the problem. You are talking about circle jerking, right?

Haha, I see what you did there.

Glad y'all liked it. Waseda's a legit school, as long as you kill your illusions with a quickness.

I'm trying to figure out which circles to join next semester, because the chock-full-o-gaijin-nothing-but-drinking international ones get a little tiring. Any suggestions?

Yeah, but I always hated it because they made me the pivot man.....
