Well, Rie Miyazawa is 36 in a couple of months so it isn't as if she is a young starlet who has found herself pregnant.

Some ten plus years ago she and Takanohana were the focus of the tabloid press and gossip TV programs. They were engaged to get married but were pressured to break it off. I have heard that Takanohana developed a hate of the mass media and that was why he hardly spoke in interviews with the press when he was an active rikishi.

After that Rie was anorexic/bulemic-looking for a long time. I got the feeling that they both took a mental beating from the whole ordeal.

She does look pretty healthy in the pics Mulboyne posted, however.
