Lil' Kim's Cristmas suprise

Agence France-Presse / June 30, 2003
NORTH Korea has enough plutonium to make six to 10 nuclear weapons and could test such a weapon by the end of the year, a former US negotiator with the Stalinist state said in an interview published today.
"To the best of my knowledge, based on very well-informed Washington sources, North Korea's nuclear program is moving ahead very quickly," Kenneth Quinones was quoted as saying by the Daily Yomiuri.[[[Impossible to find on the useless unlabeled, undated, unsearchable Yomiurisite]]]

Ugh. I did not need to hear that. And here I am looking to get back to Korea in September.

Well, in honor of Kim's nukes:

I read something - think it was on the Federation of American Scientists website, or it might have been Foreign Policy in Focus - that said there are 2 ways PRNK could go about building nukes: a fast method, or a slow method. NK had chosen the slow method (had they started with the fast way, they'd have dozens by now) stongly suggesting that they were manufacturing the crisis to play their favourite old game: brinksmanship.

If it were just about any other crew in the White House, I wouldn't be very worried. Let's just hope the neo-cons let Colin Powell do his job.Image

Actually I'm not too worried about going back. My parents were always worried about Mini Kim and other stuff while I was there, but it's really not that big of a deal. My theory was this - I'm not going to worry until the Koreans start to worry. As long as their going about their business and nobody's hoarding food, things will be okay.

I'm suprised the Gov Blinky Ishihara doesn't condemn and exercise the right of immanent domain on the unused auto plants in the Hino district of Tokyo to produce WWII era V1 buzzbombs with modern J-electronics by the tens of thousands a day.

Establish a Ten-thousand-for-One Policy for Lil' Kim's missiles---now there's a "populist" platform for Gov Blinky.

And from the book:
"Bat Bomb" by Jack Couffer, 1992. University of Texas Press. ISBN 0- 292-70790-
"It was a crazy way to win World War II in the Pacific - All the United States had to do was to attach small incendiary bombs to millions of bats and release them over Japan's major cities. As the bats went to roost, a million fires would flare up in remote crannies of the wood and paper buildings common throughout Japan. When their cities were reduced to ashes, the Japanese would surely capitulate..."

Leave it to me. Kim will never know what hit him.

Actually, I was implying that I hoped Powell might respond in a rational manner.

Colin Powell is pretty levelheaded.

But if the hawks in washington have their way, he'll have egg-fu-young on his face.....
