[/floatl]Kyodo: Obuchi announces pregnancy, marking 1st pregnancy of Japanese Cabinet member
Yuko Obuchi, minister in charge of tackling declining childbirths, said Sunday she is pregnant with her second child. According to the Cabinet Office, it is the first time an incumbent Japanese Cabinet member has become pregnant. "My son will have a younger brother or sister," the 35-year-old minister, the second daughter of the late former Prime Minister Keizo Obuchi, said in a gathering of her supporters in Tomioka, Gunma Prefecture, who clapped at the announcement.
