Kunio Kato has just been awarded the Best Animated Short Film Oscar for "La Maison en Petits Cubes". In his acceptance speech, he thanked a stream of people, his pencil and his company, Robot, finishing with the line "Domo Arigato Mister Roboto". These YouTube clips have only just been uploaded so they may not work for long. EDIT: "Okuribito" has just been named Best Foreign Language Film. Pictures in the next post.

I thought it was terrible that the academy didn't do their job when they threw up Kon Ichikawa's name during the memoriam and had someone else's face. I guess all "orientals" look alike, eh?
