How many Japanese consultants does it take...

9 Japanese consultants survive attack
Sun.Star Cagayan de Oro (July 2, 2003 issue)

CAGAYAN DE ORO -- Nine Japanese consultants were almost killed Monday when armed men fired upon their office in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental, police and local officials reported Tuesday...
...the Japanese consultants are powerful in a sense that they choose the construction firms allowed to subcontract parts of the port.
"Basin naay nasilo sa ilaha," he said. (Perhaps someone got irked at them.)

Emano added they are also looking into the possibility that a disgruntled group of workers was behind the incident.

He said they received reports that the Japanese contractors have not been treating the workers fairly in terms of salaries or in the issuances of suspensions and terminations. "I hope that if this is true, they will change their ways," he said.

Ah, I could say a lot of stuff about why I've contemplated turning a rifle on the crumbs working at PCI myself but I probably shouldn't...It's not their fault anyway. Has more to do with the government's crappy ODA policies.

ODA has been very effective in Central Africa and the Caribbean. Several land locked Africa nations now actively support Japan and Norway in their whaling research. I hear fresh caught whale meat is very popular in Niger, Chad and several Central Africa countries. And i'm sure everyone knows of the large whaling fleet based in Grenada. 8O

Lest we forget, the word "research" should always be in quotes in this context.

"Yummy, this endangered animal tastes much better with that off-brand shoyu than with Kikkoman. Could you pass the ponzu?" You mean this kind of "research"? ;)
