The Judge And The Stripper

Postby Mulboyne » Mon Apr 27, 2009 12:57 am

[floatr]Image[/floatr]AP: Fla. judge's career finished over ties to stripper
Thomas E. Stringer spent more than three decades quietly building his legal career in Florida, working his way up from an assistant state attorney to appeals court judge in the Tampa Bay area. In 2007, he was inducted into his law school's hall of fame. Then last spring, the well-respected, married judge suddenly found his face splashed beside that of a troubled exotic dancer in a kimono...Newspaper columns were written. Jokes were made. Stringer's 35-year legal career was tarnished. "It is axiomatic that 'Judge' and 'Stripper' showing up in a headline is never a good thing, especially if you happen to be the 'Judge,'" then Tampa Tribune columnist Daniel Ruth wrote after the story broke...Stringer, who has said he had a friendship and business relationship with stripper Christy Yamanaka, declined to comment for this story...more...

From TampaBay.com:
A New York City stripper says a local appeals judge wanted to marry her. Christy Yamanaka says she had sex with 2nd District Court of Appeal Judge Thomas E. Stringer Sr. three times during their 15-year friendship... Yamanaka is a dancer at Scores East Side, an upscale strip club frequented by celebrities and athletes in New York City. Both she and Stringer say they met 15 years ago at what was then Malio's restaurant... He bought her a drink and told her she was beautiful, she said. He started coming to her home for long lunches and dinners, eating meals cooked by her live-in Japanese maid, she said. Out of respect, she called Stringer "Your Majesty." Yamanaka had lived in Japan for seven years and says the country revered judges almost like gods. He said he would leave his wife for her, Yamanaka claims, but she rebuffed his romantic advances...more...

Yamanaka, in several interviews from New York by phone and e-mail, said she was born in Korea and lived in Japan. She moved to the United States with her family when she was 20. She attended college but did not graduate, she said. She said she worked as a waitress in Japanese restaurants, then, over the next 10 years, lived in Dallas, San Francisco, New York and Los Angeles. In 1995, she said, after divorcing a Japanese national, she came to Tampa.
Yamanaka got a job dancing at 2001 Odyssey, she said. It was the first time she worked as a stripper.

So, she's a Korean who uses her former Japanese husband's surname - plus wearing kimonos and references to having lived in Japan - to convince people she is of Japanese origin ...

So, for you that was zee important side of the story ?

I'd rather have a judge with a ladyfriend rather than one in the payroll of lobby groups (cf p1r4tbay trial). Especially if it has been going on for 15 years... In France that might even give him an upstart if he run for president.

Did anyone else think of the movie Striptease when they read the article?

What a horrible way to lose a career by sleeping with a stripper who is not all that good looking.
I am not really sure where I am going, I just hope that when I get there, I can sit down because I am sure my feet will be tired.

Having a mistress is a requirement for running for office in France.

However, as usual, everyone is jumping on the judge who hasn't commented. 15 years, sex three times? Am I missing something here?

Looking at the background and comments around this flower of the orient's story, one might just wonder, or at least have a doubt about her regular attendance record for Sunday School. Then, of lesser importance, just what might she possibly be able to earn for herself by bagging a sitting Federal Judge.....

Just in case anyone cares, Scores East Side closed down and is now the Sapphire Gentlemen's Club. I wonder if she's still working there or has moved on.

"I wonder" you say? Bird, by that, am I to assume that you even know the times for reduced rate happy hour rates at that little hole in the wall?

Naw. However, the pic of the chick in the kimono triggered bad memories of crappy Japanese food back in the US served by kimichistanis and chingchongs in disguise :crazy3:
