Any recommendations for a Japanese/English dictionary for the iTouch/iPhone?

Looking for one that will accept hand written Kana.

Found a few on the app store but would like an opinion on which programs people liked.

I haven't come across any app that can recognize hand written kana input, yet.
If you activate the Chinese keyboards, it will recognize kanji hand writing, but that's pretty limiting when trying to write in Japanese.
I'm in the process of trying out a few J/E, E/J dictionaries, but I'm a cheap crankybastard and don't want to pay for the expensive ones.
I think GomiGirl is the expert on this subject.

Ketch, did you mean handwritten kana? Or did you mean kanji? I think handwritten kana is a rare request; many people would prefer an on-screen keyboard as a quicker & more accurate alternative.

I think there is an app called Kotoba that i would highly recommend.
dont remember the specifics on it as i havent an iphone at the moment

I think you're missing the point of written input of kanji in an electronic dictionary. If you know the reading of something, there's no need for written input hence the lack of dictionaries with written input in kana.

I'm looking for something for my nephew who's learning Japanese. I got him Kanji Sonomama Rakubiki Jiten for the Nintendo DS, which he uses, but for some reason he can't use his DS in school, but he can bring his iPhone.

Maybe I should have explained myself a little better in the first post.

Kanji Sonomama Rakubiki Jiten does allow for Kanji, Romaji and Kana written input as well as typing.

That is so expensive.(24.99) I got one that is just called Japanese. It's cheaper and it has lots of entries and is really user friendly. Just do a search. You'll find what you need.
