This story caught my attention more because I'd be surprised if the guy claimed he wasn't taking upskirt photos unless he really wasn't. I mean, the evidence would have been right there in the camera, right? So it will be interesting to see if this turns out to be a case like Takechanpoo was talking about, where photos of non-private parts, not covered by clothing, led to an arrest.

As for our new friend, let's give him a chance to come here and embarrass himself first before we start shooting him down.

i guess there's two theories that could be entertained here...one that the guy deleted the evidence before they got a look at his phone, or perhaps the japanese guy who restrained him was being overzealously xenophobic (oooo, shock there!) and assumed the worst straight away.

the 'girl was cute so i took a pic' is kind of flimsy as an excuse. if she was cute, why wasn't the camera aimed at her face? or had he taken the pic and then was holding it in a way to look at the pic that it might have looked like he was going for an upskirt shot?
