Japanese Women Pale Into Insigificance

Postby Mulboyne » Tue May 19, 2009 3:36 pm

[floatl]Image[/floatl]Asahi: Japanese women's faces lighter
The complexion of Japanese women is on average 10 percent lighter than it was in the early 1990s, a comparison of data by Shiseido Co. has found. For women in their 30s, facial skin tones have become even lighter--20 percent more so than for women of the same age bracket in the early '90s, Shiseido found. The study by Shiseido researchers compared data on the skin color of women's cheeks from about 1,900 women aged 20 to 59 over three periods: 1991-1992, 1999-2002 and 2004-2006. Overall, facial skin tone was 10 percent lighter in 2004-2006 than it was in 1991-1992.

At this rate they will become completely transparent by 2018.

I bet that there are at least 10% less female farmers in 2004-2006 than there were in 1991-1992.

there's no reason for mystery on that one. no genetic mutations happening, it's simply that the number of skin whitening products and cosmetics increases daily. go to the cosmetics department of any takashimaya and every single counter has some kind of whitening product that is a 'must have'. sk-II alone has 6 whitening products for both face and body. christian dior makes a foundation in liquid and powder form for whitening that i've only seen in japan.

michael jackson could solve all his financial woes if he slapped his name on a skin bleach and sold it in japan.

In Japan it's either crispy fried or sickly white. What's wrong with a nice healthy tan?

I concur.

My skin was sickly white(whiter than whites) until high school. And now crispy fried.
Due to it I was called a kabuki actor. It was very an inferior complex for me in my childhood.

So they know about kabuki in Kansas?

So does this study show that these "bottles-o'-hope" actually have an effect? God don't tell them as there will even be more of them on the market.

sadly, yes, they do have an effect. the sk-II lady convinced me that i needed to add a whitener into my regime to get rid of my 'spots' (which are actually freckles that i've always had and never thought twice about until she told me they were unattractive...whatever), so i did use it for awhile, and it certainly did make me more pale.
