
Prince Tomohito of Mikasa to receive treatment for alcoholism
TOKYO, June 22 KYODO-- Japan's Prince Tomohito of Mikasa, a cousin of Emperor Akihito, needs to receive treatment for alcohol dependency for more than a month at the Imperial Household Hospital, the Imperial Household Agency said Friday.
Prince Tomohito, 61, was diagnosed with alcohol dependency by the National Hospital Organization Kurihama Alcoholism Center, and is suffering severe insomnia and difficulty in swallowing food, the agency said.
