case logic cd wallets in japan?

Postby WarlocK » Fri Jul 11, 2003 1:50 am

i've been looking all over osaka (and recently japanese websites) for some case logic cd wallets. to my dismay, there seems to be none of these wonderful cases here in japan. also i've noticed that the case logic website's international section seems to be mysteriously not working. so, any info, tips, or web sites that have these precious cd-holding commodities would be much accepted. thanks guys (and gals).

I think it's not so mysterious. Case Logic has an evil "Japan Policy" and won't ship them here because Tokyu Hands has exclusive sales rights in Japan. Go to http://www.tokyu-hands.co.jp/ and check or call your nearest store. OR I will sell you one of my extra case logic cd wallets. PM me and I'll make you a damn good deal.

Case Logic brand CD wallets may not be available, but go to any electronics store like Bic Camera and you can find an equivalent. Even better, head over to Tower Records, HMV, or Virgin records. They definitely have equivalent CD wallets.

Yeah, but you're missing the whole point. Case Logic brand CD wallets are for downloader geeks as Louis Vuitton purses are for OLs.

(Actually Case Logic' quality is the highest so if you have to carry system CD and software tools for network/PC servicing, this brandname stuff is worth the effort to find.)

I'll emphatically agree with that. I had a Case Logic 24, full of CDs, get run over by a semi (two sets of the rear tires) after it flew out of my poorly-zipped backpack while cycling one day.

Three CDs were cracked and broken, but the rest were fine and played perfectly.

I had no idea. Being the "Mixmaster", I only use CD wallets for music CD's, and most any brand is good enough for that.

it's all about the quality

Postby WarlocK » Sun Jul 13, 2003 9:35 pm

I have to agree with Taro and Caustic. Case Logic is superior in quality to all the other brands i've used. I usually haul at least one fully loaded cd wallet with me everyday, and I've never had any problems with my Case Logic wallets.

On the other hand, my "no-name" brand wallets usually fall apart after a few months of this abuse. So a few years ago I decided not to fuck around with anything but the best, so now I buy only Case Logic.

I also own some other Case Logic stuff. I have a waterproof laptop carrying case, a padded laptop case, a discman case, and back in "the day" I used to have a CL cassette tape case.

Oh, and btw Taro, CL IS like a geek's Louis Vuitton purse, except that geeks don't sell their body to buy cd wallets. :devil2:

Of course they don't. Nobody's buying.

Ya know, I bet there's actually a market for these. Especially if you had an MD case made with the LV branding.

As for me, I'll stick to the black nylon (and occasional neoprene).

If you're in the US this week.

Postby Caustic Saint » Tue Jul 15, 2003 3:44 pm

Target has all Case Logic products on sale for 30% off this week, July 13 - July 19. I was in there today and they had an 88-disc wallet (1x2 size, not 2x2) for $14.99 - before the 30% discount. Just the size I was looking for to take some CDs and DVDs with me to Korea next month.

I learned my lesson when it came time to return to the US this year and had to ship my DVDs separately since the cases take up too much space.

My friend airmails his new DVDs to me in a cardboard wrapped, Case Logic cases to me to reduce weight and volume while increasing the protection to the contents.

NOW can we collect a commission from Case Logic for all these damn compliments?
