I am not surprised, the only place they sell frisbees, or flying discs as they were called, around me are at Kahma and went to a picnic with one and only the gaijins there knew how to throw or catch one. It was a pretty sad sight, clearly not part of the Japanese summer culture.
I am not really sure where I am going, I just hope that when I get there, I can sit down because I am sure my feet will be tired.
I don't know what it's like now, but back in the 80s you could see lots of people playing frisbee on US university campuses. My uni had a frisbee golf range and it was pretty popular.
