I'm actually OK with it. It's a lot better compared to the brutal heat wave and having to blast the AC all day and night.

I'm kinda wishing it had rained like a mofo today. I'm sunburned beyond belief from 5 hours of UV cancer ray exposure in Kasairinkai koen.:redface2:

Don't matter. You can still install AC unless you have no electricity.

They've got decent churros...or I've forgotten what a decent churro tastes like.

What I'm impressed about is that James e-mail about the endless rain seems to have effectively ended it. We should tie him up and take him to Vegas. Whatever he says to bet on, we bet the exact opposite.;)

I don't know where you're living, but we had thunderstorms last night, it's raining this morning, and the weather report is calling for rain all week here in Nag-town.

Out here we started the rainy season with absitively no rain to the point that they were talking about turning off the water for 8 hours at night, but since the very end of June we have been blessed/cursed by about 20 inches of rain. Generally, I find that the good cancels out the bad.

Good points
1)No water shortage
2)Not overbearingly hot (just humid as hell)
3)Great for the garden
4)High school girls who have forgotten their umbrellas

Bad Points
1)Can't show my physique off at the beach.
2)It is pissy getting pissed on every day on the pissing way to work
3)The interesting mold collection that everything seem to develop at
this time of year
4)The fine smell my dog acquires

Neutral Point
1) Lots of mudslides -Mudslides can be really cool to watch provided you are not living in a nursing homes for invalids.

Aside from the neighborhood always in heat noraneko (I named him/her Greji), Tokyo was warm and balmy (whatever that means) last night. This morning, putting socks on over sunbaked feet really sucked.

Holy crap batman, we just got poured on today, and this is the 4th day in a row. The rivers are almost about to overflow, the ground is completely saturated. One more day of this and you might find mi casa floating down towards you all in Nagoya and the like. Haven't seen this much rain since the year I came in '93. Lord tunderin jesus she rained like a bitch that year too. We had no summer, just srping, rainy season, and then fall.

Yeah, last night was bad in Osaka too. I was driving home around 11 and the rain was coming down so hard that I couldn't see where I was going. Roads were totally awash too, no chance of seeing lines.

Today thankfully has been better so far. Hope you don't get much more rain canman, don't want to see you on the news. :(

Here's hoping that 4-season Japan's 5th season wraps up soon so we can get on with summer!!

I listen to WPLJ pretty much daily so actually I know the NY weather situation scarily well... Was very happy when I found that PLJ streams off their website now. :D

We use this site for what's coming up - check out the current 5-day (w/o July 26) forecast - Yuck!
So, should we start building an ark (with plenty of extra goats for Greji, of course) or what?

just heard that it really sucks in ottawa too. they've had only six days without rain since the beginning of june and that the water is knee-deep in some of the outlying areas.

from last night i've had pain in the base knuckle of my left index finger which makes typing uncomfortable and hurts if i apply too much pressure or bend it too far. this morning i noticed it's fully sunny out for the first time in ages. didn't think i was quite old enough to be making meteorological predictions with my joints though.

It's all caused by Al Gore and global warming.....

Rain front stays over Japan archipelago, causing unusual weather
AP July 30, 2009
The year's seasonal rain front has continued to stay over the Japanese archipelago, causing unusual weather phenomena such as heavy rains in western Japan and a tornado disaster in eastern Japan. The Japan Meteorological Agency has yet to declare the end of the year's rainy season for wide areas ranging from the Tokai region in central Japan to northern Kyushu in southwestern Japan....more...

must be nice. no sign of it lifting here. i don't mind the fact it's cool but it's definitely too wet and the lack of sun is really not good for a farming village dependant on rice crops.
