In this April's Hemmings magazine, a 1924 Hupmobile had an asking price of $27,000 USD, which is right in line with 2.7 million yen sales price in Japan.

Demand for all the pre-1960 cars have been dropping like a rock for some time (excluding to ultra-rare cars like the Duesenberg). For pre 1940 cars the market is literally dying off (no younger person wants an old car that only their great-grand parents drove and can't keep up with traffic safely).

More interesting is that the demand for ANY kind of classic car is slowly dropping to nothing because Peak Oil makes owning any internal combustion engine increasing absurd in the long run. I am having a hell of a time selling my garage full of frame-up restored classics: Anybody want a My-Name-Is-Earl 1971 El Camino SS big-block 454 or a 1970 Triumph GT6 Mark II?

Considering the shaken, I'd say the new buyer got ripped.
See you in PyonPyang!

Is it in Japan? Straight pipes for the big-block allowed here?

Got any Hemicuda ? 70-71 ? There's a bloke owning a white one in me town... the engine noise give me a hard on all the time... Loving this car since I first saw Phantasm on the telly...

On a side note... I didn't knew collecting cars was aboot driving them... The day I put my hand on a 37' AutoUnion Type C I swear I will never use it on Jusco Days -or any other day- to bring back the cat litter...
