eSlowbile - think twice ...

Postby DrP » Fri Aug 21, 2009 2:18 pm

I've been using eMobile since they started. At first the service was quite snappy and lived up to its claim - at least within the context of HSPDA capabilities. Recently I upgraded to the D21 version hoping to take advantage of increase in BW (up and down). Big mistake - there is absolutely no difference in the BW quality between my new D21 or old L series modem. eMobile is a rolling scam. If you're thinking about getting this service - think twice. The WIMAX services kill it on all accounts except for covereage.

I'd only consider eMobile in the context of getting one of the mini-laptop for free. Still requires a 2yr contract, though ....
See you in PyonPyang!

Image eMobile offers a free Dell Mini 9 for with a 2yr contract at a 6,00yen/m flat-rate, "unlimited" downloading

Interesting. The speeds gotta be there for this to go huge in Japan. When you're on hikari and you're streaming HD to the TV as well as having 2 streams running on the laptop while the boy is watching you-tube vids like we were doing earlier and it all runs smoothly you get spoiled and you just want speed, speed and more speed.
