Looks to be worth a watch. I just hate (and this is an assumption based merely on the trailer) when what happened to the world economy is linked to/blamed on capitalism as opposed to cronyism, corruption, and moral degradation of our societies. It's like blaming totalitarianism solely on socialism.

Looking forward to seeing it.

I'm a fan. He's full of shit but he is a very gifted film-maker. I wonder if he'll ever branch out from documentaries?

Its amazing how people always seem to hate someone who makes so much sense... people seem to like being f*cked in the ass by their own leaders and as soon as someone points it out they are hated.

@Adhesive

Yes I agree with you generally because America is not a capitalist country. Its a country based to socialism. Socialism for corporations and the super rich, and people are so brainwashed by their "free" press they can't even see the it. If you want real capitalism stop all the subsidies and stop the bail outs of these failed industries, close down all tax havens and loop holes which are used by the rich and their companies. If you don't like big government half the size of the hugest government department in the world, the US armed forces.;)

Matt Taibbi's Article

Postby kino » Sun Aug 23, 2009 2:23 am

For those of you who didn't catch Matt Taibbi's article on Goldman Sachs purported role in the collapse of the housing market and other bubbles:

http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/story/29127316/the_great_american_bubble_machine

As for Michael Moore, he may not be the ideal person to champion a cause, but he is pretty effective at influencing debate.

I like how Moore points out that the guy he's being referred to has a receding hair-line. :roll3:

If I was that security guard I would have replied "yeah, that's the guy, the thin one who doesn't look like an old lesbian." :D

I'm looking forward to when the movie is out of the theatre and on the dusty reject DVD archives where they belong.

Can I have an Amen?!

When some one resorts to insults I know they haven't got an actual argument about the issues.

People do not like to hear anything that might shine a light on the bars of their cages....better to feel free.

There is no such thing as real capitalism, just as there was never a real communism. They are closing down tax havens and loop holes, it helps consolidate power to the one institution that has the government by the short and curlies, the Central Banking cartel.

Oh, boy do I ever have a slue of arguments about the issue. Besides, you can only insult an individual if they truly deserve it, hence, if the shoe fits....

Well, then maybe if Obama wouldn't step on other people's rights and wouldn't try to consolidate power the way he has been doing, then maybe we would have a few civil liberties left. How about Moore doing a film about that. How about when Obama was talking about change, he really meant it! How about Moore doing a movie about how the "Cash for clunkers" program was a total waste and that only 6% of the dealers got reimbursed or how is it that Bush racks up a 480 billion dollar deficit is bad, but Obama's whopping 1.3 trillion(and counting)deficit is Good???? Spend more is better to stabilize the economy? Yea, I wanna see that fat bastard make a documentary about that. He's for the cause, but he would never up his private healthcare option or his giant Michigan home! Talk about Hyprocracy.
Yes, I want to see him do that kind of movie. That would be serious change I can believe in.

....so far

You know, if it takes 4-5 weeks for my paper submitted tax forms to be processed and my tax refund issued, and that's a well established and reasonably well understood system with most of the bugs worked out and with relatively low fraud potential, I don't understand how these dealers think that the gov should be, oh sure, those two dozen illegible, incomplete forms you faxed in three days ago, yeah we will totally overnight that $100K check this afternoon. The program, which was throw together in a few weeks (It was signed into law, what, around the 20th of June and program became active on July 24th) involving both an agency and end users who have never done anything similar in the past, has certainly a lot of problems but that said, it has only been active for 30 days. I'm surprised even 6% have been paid.

While its environmental benefits are less than clear (wow, 1 or 2 MPG truck/SUV improvement threshold, aim big Obama), it certainly has drummed up alot of economic activity in a sector that previously had little...and more than few states will be quite happy to get the sales tax revenue and other related fees in their coffers as well.
