The apology is supposed to be at 13:16, according to the comments over on Japan Probe...

The u-yokus?
If so, should we believe them?

I'd like to see this "letter of apology" if it exists.
Any links?

I linked to the report earlier in the thread. You can see it being shown on the longer Sakura channel video of the incident at 16:35.

You the man! Er, troll.

Instead of forcing a FG to apologize the next time, they should just do what the samurai did in Shogun when FG Anjin-san used rude language:

Pee on him(or her)!

A bit off topic, but that female uyoku announcer is butt ugly. I'd still do her, though.

So sad to see a bunch of Japanese trying to cling to some memory of a dream that never came to fruition, instead of trying to better themselves for a future that could leave their entire country in the dustbin. Militarism and nationalism was an experiment that failed, get over it, if we're all dependent on each other to do business and make money, while we may not completely like each other, at least our wallets will dictate our behavior.
I like (for the degree of "how pathetic" it generates) hearing J-folks who weren't even alive at the time go on and on about how "it was better back then". Sounds exactly like "Morning in Reagan's America". Those illusions of grandeur never existed as it is envisioned to have existed by the people who didn't live through it. Those who lived through it may have a different opinion. Those who went to war, went through war, etc., may have a different opinion about it than those who armchair quarterbacked or who weren't even conceived at the time.
A Japanese general, feeling that he has daddy (the US military) to back him up should things get hot can be a real annoying snit. Drop his ass off north of the DMZ with a Swiss Army knife and let him fend for himself. If he gets back in one piece, then I'll listen to his tripe.

I don't think the guy he questioned at first had said anything particularly provocative (Aug. 15 is, I think, the day we should devote to the brave souls who gave their lives...is what I think he said).
Surely walking into the lion's mouth and using his nodo chinko (can't remember the correct English term) as a boxing bag is simply asking for trouble? He was lucky not to come out of the situation a lot worse for wear than he did end up.
This Canadian guy's deliberate (and needless) provocation makes it worse for all us foreigners here.

I thought he was German..
WTF.. what a coward. At least compare with his own Canadian "constitution" (which is derived from the UK monarchist rule anyway...).

omae mona wrote:I agree 100%. But what bothers me about this video is what happened after that guy opened his stupid mouth. As the tension started to rise, and even as the police showed up, the Canadian guy did exactly what I have always thought is the right thing to do: walk away and be very careful not to physically touch anybody or do anything that could be used as an excuse to arrest you. Yet he got arrested anyway (apparently).

It really makes me wonder how I should respond if a Japanese person ever starts physically assaulting me. In the past my assumption was that I should get the hell away as fast as I can. But watching this video makes me think I am likely to get arrested anyway, so I may as well defend myself vigorously.

Coligny - at first, I thought that is what the cops were doing. Just trying to defuse the situation. But according to the caption in the end, in the end he spent several hours in detention at the Kojimachi koban. If the cops were just trying to defuse the situation, they would have helped him get into a taxi and leave the area (which is what he was trying to do, if you watch the video). So I do not think the cops' motivation here was purely to restore peace and calm.

I was actually in the neighborhood during this event and was very up close as some uyoku groups were tussling with the police, trying to break into a left-wing demonstration. The police, in riot gear, were grinning ear to ear as they pushed back these guys, who smiled back, and I was close enough to hear the leader of the group say "gomen, ne!" to the cop he was pushing. The whole thing was a show for the photographers in the area. It was quite a surprise to me, but I got the sense that the cops are quite sympathetic to the uyoku cause and are doing the minimum enforcement to avoid getting accused of dereliction of duties. How else would the cops be smiling while getting physically assaulted and then let the attackers walk away afterwards?

Basically, the rule is, if you ever get into any sort of altercation with a Japanese, make sure there are no witnesses, pound the guy to shit and get the hell out of dodge ASAP! Remember, the cardinal rule again is; "NO WITNESSES!"
Because if people see you, you will be in world of shit.

Ok, I don't like to talk about it but I have been on the giving end of a sake bottle to a Nihonjin's head. After I got away simply by flipping off the j-cops, running to the other side of the station and hopping in the taxi, my worthless friend got nabbed. Needless to say the next day I had to go visit the station. The amazing thing was that the cops resolved everything amicably. I had to say sorry, pay restitution and befriend the guy which was quite a rewarding experience.

If this had happened in the states I would probably just be getting out of the slammer about now. Sometimes Japanese justice is very logical.

As for this Pierre starting shit, I'm kinda torn. Japan is such a beautiful place, why waste time on these turds? They thrive on attention. Deprive them of it and they shrivel away like their little chinko. Then again by stopping this shit now we are going to save the Japanese a huge pain in the arse because the Chinese still want payback. I met several Chinese while in Bejing who hate the Japanese with a thousand rising suns.
Spare a drink?

The only problem I have with what this guy did is his point was pretty meaningless. No matter how stupid he may be for intentionally trying to stir up the hornets' nest, if he has the balls to do it, then more power to him. But pointing out the fact that "if this was Germany, you'd be a arrested", is pretty lame especially when you're a fucking French Canadian. You know what, if this was America or a lot of other countries, it wouldn't be illegal. Of course that doesn't matter either because this is Japan. He needs to come up with a better line next time. I suggest something like McArthur should have skull-fucked Hirohito's head and put on a stake at the gates of GHQ, I shit on the graves of your faggotty-ass war dead you little-dick yellow midgets, or Remember Hiroshima!! ... because we just might do it again if you get too uppity.

Actually, I have taken this "skull-fucked" approach a couple of times---It's great fun when you have plausible deniability. Nobody can out "crazy" me except Steve B.:crazy3:

I envy and respect your creative use of English, but when I get really PO'd, I unfortunately become semi-incoherent...

What I see here is that Pierre was making a video about the relationship between the uyoku and the police, and I think he succeeded well. Sure, I've read about it, but that's nothing like seeing and hearing, ne?

He didn't say anything bujoku, just made a fairly mild statement of fact. That they yelled back at him, used bad language is no big deal, but they grabbed him/his backpack a few times. To me, that IS a big deal. Anybody does that to me, I tend to throw common sense out the window and my native Brooklyn blood-lust comes on, so I'm sure his mild reaction was well rehearsed. I think the video must have been shot by a J-friend, maybe the J-cops thought he was just another uyoku , and that's why the camera wasn't confiscated.

Here, the guys who did the hands-on would have been arrested, and an apology to Pierre and the police might have reduced their penalties, but after all, unfortunately, TIJ.
