Free Kirin!

Postby Mulboyne » Fri Aug 28, 2009 8:25 am

[floatr]Image[/floatr]Sorry, that should read Kirin Free. Kirin's alcohol-free offering has proved such a success that the beer maker's major competitors will be pushing out their own varieties through next month. Asahi will launch Point Zero on the 1st September, Suntory will follow later with Fine Zero while Sapporo have named their brand Super Clear. You can see their labels and logos in this Asahi report. Kirin is planning to counter by bring out additional can and bottle sizes for their brand.

Nice trick with the words, Mulboyne! :p
His [Brendan Behan's] last words were to several nuns standing over his bed, "God bless you, may your sons all be bishops."

My first reaction was -Where has it been imprisoned? But after reading the article I had my answer. It has imprisoned by a bunch of faceless gnats who were recruited out of straight out of university and wouldn't know what beer is supposed to taste like if it bit of there cock off. As for non alcohol beer, I suppose this is their answer to the ever tightening rules about taxation and malt content. The problem with selling non alcohol beer is that while it it draws people in with he low calories it fails to the one thing that all beer must do -slowly get you hammered, and once people click to this it is just a circle in hell below Asahi Off or Suntory Straight (as opposed to Suntory Gay).

I tried one can of the stuff. I wouldn't drink it again even if it was free...hold on, it is free but not the kind of free I meant.

I was offered a sip of Kirin Free this past weekend. One whiff was enough, it stinks!

What's the point of drinking "beer" when you can't get fucked up with it?

You can drive home after. Based on the smell though I'd sooner just drink water.

I was offered a can of this stuff a few weeks ago, and although I'm not too fussy about varieties of beer, this bilge was so rancid that I only managed two mouthfuls (and that was being polite). A female acquaintance that cannot drink beer however really likes it.

Yeah, my "female acquaintance" (is that what we're calling 'em now? ;)) who can't drink seemed to think it was okay too.

Hmm maybe Mrs, Bucky would like it. On second thought, nah. She's a Teetotaller with a Capital T, even non-alcoholic brew would be outta consideration.

Me? I'll stick with the real stuff.

My wife bought me a can of this to try the other day. I had one sip and dumped it down the sink. It was absolutely horrible. I wouldn't drink it again with a gun to my head.
