Pefume vs Perfume

Postby Mulboyne » Thu Sep 03, 2009 3:52 pm

[dm]xa74jn[/dm]

Three Fukuoka girls copied a Perfume video for a friend's farewell party, calling themselves "Pefume", It made its way to Nico Nico Douga and You Tube, turning them into minor celebrities. Those video services have now deleted the clip but you can still see it on Daily Motion where it runs side by side with the original. The girls studied the real version more than 100 times over three weeks to match all the gestures and facial expressions. Dressed in clothes bought from a local Daiei for 3,000 yen, they then put it together in a couple of days. All three have been taken aback at the reaction and are now wondering whether they should try their hand at another one.

That is brilliant! I recommend people see it while they can.
I hope these kids do more.

And Perfume, or should I say Perfume's managers and handlers rake in mad yen, and where does it go? Costumes and production values that can be replicated by total amateurs? Where does the other 99.99% go? Giant limousines, DomPeri and ho's for certain entertainment shachos and their yakuza pals?

Or is the irony just that the Perfume juggernaut probably spent 10 times as much money paying lawyers to get this video banned than they actually spent to make the video (songwriting fee included)

Besides, isn't Perfume actually just that Vocaloid artificial singer software that any otaku can buy and master, tweaked to sound like 3 "different" voices? Only thing I'm not sure of is whether the girls are actually androids.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Level3 again.

And you thought Sharon Apple's Macross Plus Virtual Idol was a fucked up idea for a storyline...

On a side note... is like duel of the butterface...

Which is the real group? I'm guessing left side because one of the gilrs on the right side looks older.
His [Brendan Behan's] last words were to several nuns standing over his bed, "God bless you, may your sons all be bishops."

Some kind of logical next step in a country where raw fish over cold rice is considered as food.

It's a complete misunderstanding aboot what art is supposed to be. It's reaching the point where I feel strange to call singing an art since production method are much closer to those of a Toyota factory...

Maybe we can blame capitalism... searching the cheapest thing to be sold with the highest markup to the biggest number of people. Computer don't ask for royalties... Buying to dowload music actually cost nearly nothing per transaction. If you show something often enough on TV people will want to buy it... Round and round and round...

Seing the youtube video aboot beyonce live in newyork singing like... a 16y/o in fornt of her webcam was maybe as much disturbing as this... At least perfume is not a scam, it's officially branded thin air...

Half of the intarweb say it was a hoax... Because we all know that like Jessica Simpson, everybody sings good for real...
