the JAL ticket that was bought to get him out of the country via tokyo that was denied (he was not told until after the ticket was bought via internet agency that he could not fly via tokyo), the agency is refusing to refund the money for the ticket.

they're not writing directly to JAL to demand a refund of the ticket. along with a little note that it's ironic that another airline has been fined for 'not properly checking his documents' before allowing him to fly to japan, yet they allowed him to buy this ticket on JAL. not very yokoso of them.

time to start hitting them where it hurts...the prospect of losing face internationally.

the japanese embassy in london today let him know that his teaching visa has been approved and he's now booked on a direct flight from london to tokyo on tuesday. he's bought a return ticket with changable date just in case.

meanwhile i got a 800£ phone bill and JAL still hasn't refunded the money for the ticket he wasn't able to use. but they're welcoming him back with open arms.

it's not about the money. i think it's pretty fucked up though that they took him on this wild, expensive ride for nothing. they could have just let him through to go get his visa that was already approved and waiting.
