I want you to know that I am highly insulted by your insinuations that I might have "gave him one riding too many!"

Your inferring that I might be other than the normal oversexed FG is not appreciated. Besides one or two rides would never be considered "too many"!

This is especially obvious, since I only had a glass of wine with lunch beforehand...

How about an over-dose of sleeping pills ... suicide?

That's what some reports are guessing at.

The previous events, and his loss of face, point to the Japanese solution for adversity.. But I'm sure the doctors will determine a 'stoppage of breathing' caused the death, not the sleeping pill/speedball paraphernalia at his bedside. ;)

"What did in Shochu Nakagawa?"

Alcoholsim, Depression, Rejection, Loneliness...

Alcoholism is a disease and a terrible addiction.

In Japan, alcoholism is viewed as something of a "Personal Problem" or something that should be taken under control by the individual, and not a disease that takes over your better judgment.

The Japanese like to drink (I think we can all agree upon that...), but just like any human being, we do have our limits.

Those Old School Japanese Boss's think it's macho to show how strong they can drink, and that sets a bad precedence upon lower ranks in the corperations, because those lower ranked managers have to go with the Boss to drink if he says, "Lets go drink!" (it's really not a request).

Nakagawa had a terrible addiction, and in my opinion nobody within his Office (or his family for that matter) really cared. If they did, they would've really have worked very hard at getting him some help.

He probably wished someone would've just cared about his terrible addiction for one moment in his life, and get him some help before the alcoholism totally took over his life, instead of people pointed at him and humiliated him in front of the World. "Ha! Look at that Drunk Stupor!"

It's amazing how people can take pleasure at watching a Man come totally apart, and then kick a Man while he's down.

It's really sad...

You really are all imagination and no facts, with a huge dollop of patronization thrown in for good measure.

Were you there? Did you work with Nakagawa? Are you a friend of the family?

His family, friends, and coworkers had been trying to get him off the booze for years, using any and all means available. To say that nobody cared about his addiction without knowing the facts is just plain offensive to those who did try to help.

I wanted to give you the green stuff for this, but I need to spread the love around a bit more first. Since that's not likely to happen, I figured I'd give you your props here.

AN INITIAL autopsy of former Japanese finance minister Shoichi Nakagawa found cardiovascular abnormalities and alcohol in his body, but was unable to determine the cause of death, reports said on Monday.

Police will conduct further examinations, which will require a few more days, according to Jiji Press and other media.

Mr Nakagawa, who resigned in February over his apparently drunken behaviour at a meeting of world powers on the global financial crisis, was found dead Sunday at his home. He was 56.

No suicide note was discovered - although his sudden death reminded many of his father's suicide in the early 1980s at about the same age - and there was no suggestion of foul play, police said.

Initial examinations suggested Mr Nakagawa may have died of a circulatory disease, Kyodo News reported, quoting unnamed investigative sources. Mr Nakagawa had vomited in bed and was found dead, lying face down, with sleeping pills left on a nearby desk. He has recently been taking sleeping pills as he was suffering insomnia symptoms, news reports said.
What was it I said?..

yeah, nothing says 'i wish someone would help me with my terrible addiction ' than embarrassing your country by going to the G7 and getting sauced on global tv and blaming it on cold medicine. Stepping down from your post earlier and seeking help before digracing yourself and family would have been a terrible idea.

Let me add to yokoman's comment by adding two more words... You suck.
