Vote For Your Favourite Transvestite

Postby Mulboyne » Thu Oct 22, 2009 8:01 pm

"Ripley's Believe It or Not! Museum is participating in the 'Miss International Queen 2009' transvestite beauty contest by being one of the primary sponsors. This beauty pageant is an opportunity for people locally and internationally to be part of the contest by cheering for their favorite transvestite beauty who will represent different countries worldwide."

[floatr]Image[/floatr]In internet voting, Anne Marie from the Philippines (above left) leads Sunny Dee-Lite from America (above right) with no-one else currently in contention. However, there are three Japanese contestants in this year's line-up including TV tarento Ai Haruna (right). Haruna placed 4th in 2007 and has entered again this year at the behest of one of NTV's shows. To generate some interest, she's made a public appeal for support so it'll be interesting if she can ride the same Japanese netizen wave which propelled Ikuo Nushiro to the top of an internet vote for the next Patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Church. A look at a selection of web comments suggest that support can't be taken for granted: while Haruna seems generally well liked, some ungracious souls are suggesting she might be about ten years too late in asking for their vote.

(There was a gap of about half an hour between me starting this piece and finally posting it. During that time Haruna appears to have gone from absolutely nowhere to 2400 votes, which is nearly 14% of the total)

Half the "chicks" in Motown look like that, so I can understand the sense of deja vu.

Well, where you are right on me, I have to add that I have never been much for setting restrictive rules. I mean like eight to eighty, blind, crippled, or crazy. If she can't walk, I'll drag her. One shouldn't unilaterally limit one's playing field.....

I'm sure Japanese TV put the fix in. After all, they've been running coverage of Haruna's pre-competition diet as well as preparations for the event itself. Of course, some might argue Japanese TV and gangsters are not so far removed.

Shimmering in a tight gold evening gown, a Japanese television host wept and called for greater tolerance as she was crowned the world's most beautiful transsexual at a pageant in Thailand.

Haruna Ai, 37, beat off stiff competition from 20 other glamorous contestants at the Miss International Queen 2009 who came to the Thai beach resort of Pattaya from as far as Brazil and the United States.

Part of the talent part of the contest no doubt.
Never criticize anyone until you've walked several kilometres in their shoes.
Because

1. You're now several kilometres away; and

2. You've got their shoes.

Ai Haruna was selected to do the marathon run for NTV's special. Here's the ending:

Nothing special. THe walk wasn't even 85km as they claimed it to be. Google the distance from Chigasaki to Nittele in Shiodome and it's roughly 58km. Give her 60km just to be generous. Anyone can walk that distance in a 24 hour period.

These TV shows try to be inspirational but it's entirely ungenuine and bogus. Though I give Haruna credit for the spectacular acting job at the end with all the tears.

Korea won this year, beating Japan's Ami Takeuchi into second place. Takeuchi won the separate photographer's award.

Was looking obviously like a transvestite one of the criteria!? That Korean dude doesn't look anything like a woman to me. The Japanese dude though, I'd probably figure that was a woman (and an attractive one at that) if I passed him on the street.
And you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
