I hope, at least, that the fourteen year-old boy was pretty big. What would this police officer do if he had to face an adult?

Just hand the gun over without a fight?

I've got the English dubbed NHK on now. They quoted the officer as saying he didn't realize his attacker was 14 as he was "170 cm tall and well built." Sounds sexy.

Coligny reporting live from Toyohashi here...

With...

nothing to add in fact...

I don't know if I prefer my cops Dirty Harried or running away like schoolgirls in Tokyo...

But I fear that boredom might be a heavy factor here... I mean aside for an obscene number of parks, the only highlight of the city is the fact that the McDo near the train station is now open 24h a day... And I think to remember that it made the front page of every newspapers for half a month... Oh... and also we got a new lightweight railcar... (that did it for the front page of the other half of the month)

On day I will have to answer myself why I left Paris... (Sarkozy was not even an excuse back then)

Well, the lads are at it again...

A high school student who wears a veil due to a medical condition was stopped and verbally abused by a police officer, who asked him if he was a member of the Taliban, it's been learned.

Tottori police apologized for the officer's actions at the Tottori Prefectural Assembly on Friday, saying the officer acted and behaved inappropriately.

The 18-year-old student, who attends a high school in the Tottori Prefecture city of Sakaiminato, suffers from porphyria, a condition which causes pain when his skin is exposed to sunlight.

The officer from Yonago Police Station stopped the boy as he was riding double on a bicycle near JR Yonago Station on Oct. 28 last year, accusing him of being "strangely-dressed" and asking him, "Are you a Taliban member?"

The chief of the prefectural police headquarters later admitted that he was stopped because the veil looked suspicious, not because he was riding double.

The head of Yonago Police Station apologized to the student and his family, and the prefectural police headquarters reportedly sent a DVD explaining the condition to all police stations...

Police capture fugitive on run since escape from Ibaraki police station
A 24-year-old man who escaped from the Mito police station last Friday after the officer questioning him drank tea laced with sedatives and fell asleep, was captured at around 5 a.m. Thursday, police said.

Naoto Tsuge, an unemployed man and resident of Naka City, was arrested for attempted theft on April 16, accused of breaking into a car to steal the personal belongings inside. He was being questioned by a 30-year-old officer on the second floor of the Mito police station on April 24, when the officer fell asleep. Tsuge escaped from the room after applying force to the metal bars covering the window. :shakeh:

Two empty packets of sedatives were found in the room and traces of the sleep-inducing agent were found in the teapot the officer drank from.

Tsuge was placed on a nationwide wanted list and was arrested on Thursday after being found in the garage of a residence in Mito City at around 5 a.m, police said.

Actually, the car burglar is the real idiot. Instead of taking his slap on the wrist he decided to drug a police officer and flee hs questioning which will now earn him some time.

LOL, I would love to see them make a COPS Japan though, where half the times the criminals outsmart and get away from the Keystone J-cops.
Spare a drink?

Aichi murder suspect was in house for 10 hours after killings

Police have come under fire for allowing the suspect to escape. A police spokesman said Saturday that the officer on the scene who called for backup was only gone for about three minutes and that the suspect must have left through the back door during that time.

I don't think that could happen. The writer of the characters in the bizarre movie we're living through would never allow such a normal scene like that to happen.

[floatl]Image[/floatl]Saitama cop arrested after hit-and-run with another policeman

'A Saitama prefectural police officer has been arrested after crashing his motorcycle into another local policeman, who was standing on a prefectural highway on speeding patrol, and fleeing the scene.

According to police, Akira Matsuo, 26, a policeman at Kawagoe Police Station, was arrested for negligent driving causing injury and violating the Road Traffic Law after he ran down a 28-year-old policeman from Kuki Police Station's traffic policy division, who was on speeding control and tried to stop Matsuo at around 7:15 a.m. on Sunday. Matsuo fled before he was spotted and arrested by another policeman about 200 meters along the road. The Kuki policeman sustained leg and other injuries.

"I was afraid my boss would find out about my speeding and tell me off. I am sorry for what I have done," police quoted Matsuo as saying. Matsuo was on his way to work and was driving at 87 kilometers per hour, 37 kilometers over the speed limit on the road.

Kawagoe Police Station Deputy Chief Tatsuki Fukushima said that the incident is "extremely regretful."'

Now he's going to get a telling off and a reduced pay for a few months, but I think thats all thats going to happen. Oh well, Japan's only form of real punishment is hanging, otherwise you just get a stern talking to and shame.

[SIZE="5"]Policeman held over theft of schoolgirl's underwear
[/SIZE]

A policeman was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of stealing undergarments from a 14-year-old girl while visiting her house to question her about a crime she had witnessed, police said.

Arrested was Yuki Miyamoto, 26, a policeman from Aboshi Police Station in Hyogo Prefecture.

According to the police, at about 1:50 p.m. Saturday, Miyamoto went to the second-year middle school student's house in Himeji in the prefecture, to question her about a case of public indecency she had witnessed earlier the same day.

Miyamoto is believed to have entered the student's room and stolen about 25 items of underwear.

The student told police that when she was about to take a bath, she noticed her underwear was missing. Her mother reported the theft to the police.

The police questioned Miyamoto about the incident on the same day. They said Miyamoto has admitted to the allegations.

"It's inexcusable that a uniformed policeman committed a crime during the course of duty," Junichi Wada, head of the Hyogo prefectural police's office of personnel supervision said. "In addition to investigating the facts, we'll deal strictly [with this matter]."

What gets me is that there are cops as young as 21, or 20 if he was hired last April.
That means only 2 years of whatever equates to an education in criminology and police academy training etc. after getting out of high school.
Gives me just that much more faith in the local keystones. :shake:

The Boston Police only require a person to pass a general knowledge test to have their name put in the pool. If you know someone inside, you can skip the pool and have your gun handed to you as soon as you pass the "I'm not retahaded" test.
