The man made the grisly find near the 1223-metre peak of Mount Garyu in the north of Hiroshima prefecture, where he was gathering wild mushrooms, Jiji Press reported, quoting police sources.

Police suspect the head may be that of a local 19-year-old college student who has been missing since October 26, Jiji said.

was wondering wtf was going on as i drove home last night. i'm about 15 mins by car from the border with hiroshima and on the other side of the road there were no fewer than 7 cop cars pulling over everyone to check and on my side of the road one stopped car with no driver and a cop car.

Lucky! Whenever I am on my head collecting trips, I only come across mushrooms.
I am not really sure where I am going, I just hope that when I get there, I can sit down because I am sure my feet will be tired.

Check with Sagawa sensei.
Never criticize anyone until you've walked several kilometres in their shoes.
Because

1. You're now several kilometres away; and

2. You've got their shoes.

It looks like investigators are starting to piece things together ...

Postby Samurai_Jerk » Sun Nov 08, 2009 2:07 pm

A human torso was found Sunday at a mountain in Hiroshima Prefecture near the site where the head of a missing 19-year-old woman from neighboring Shimane Prefecture has been found, police said. A joint investigation squad of Shimane and Hiroshima prefectural police said they believe the undressed torso belonged to Miyako Hiraoka, a first-year student at the University of Shimane, who went missing after finishing her shift at a part-time job on the evening of Oct 26.
