As much as AliG was (and is still) absolutely wonderfull in it's schyzophrenic humor... It's been downhill since.

Borat was a heavy handed dogooding metaphor... (the "throw the jew down the well" song were he could make the statement 'Hey looky, dem people be antisemite, they sing the song' was just... icing on the rotten cake)

And now it's just painfull, in a strange sort of way. It's a succession of good-to-not-so-bad ideas tied in a barely watchable way. (the idea of the sm scene at the hotel was good, same for the talking dick intro, but everything inbetween was so baad....)

Kinda like Ali G. Guy had some unbelievably funny stuff in him, but spent most of his time making shit.

Ali G was pretty funny at the beginning, but the rest of sasha baron cohen's characters are fucking awful, especially this one. i've not heard one good review of bruno.

Could never stand the guy's movie. He was cought in the wave of the "max Pecas" movies. Bowel movment level of humor (make Police Academy look like some artsy fartsy intellectual stuff). Not really his fault I suppose...
You know... France too have the equivalent of Rednecks/Nascar/WWF (is_real_to_me) crowd. They are plentifull... and there's even one president of the country these days... There is no reason not to make movies and therefore money out of this demographic...
