.. were arrested at Auckland International Airport in the early hours of Tuesday morning, carrying 2 kg of methamphetamine, also known as "ice" or "crystal" in their suitcase.

The couple had traveled to Auckland from Malaysia via Singapore....
Talk about living on the edge! They're lucky they were caught in Zealand.

So that's four in New Zealand and one in Malaysia (who'll probably hang).

Has anyone heard anything about either of these incidents through the Japanese media? It'll be interesting to see if they get any air time here.

I can see it now....any local coverage will focus on the Japanese being framed, as happened with a prominent case in the '90s.
Perhaps it's better to read the Japanese version of the Wiki entry to see how they claim the drug traffickers were victimized.
