Not even throwing the current Toyota scandal aboot unintented acceleration and hidden recalls... I'm soon even going to cross out Subaru from my 'can be bought from' list. Even if the new imprezza was one of the cheapest AWD car while being small and hatchback. Damn tempting before this mess...

And I don't know if your Note gets a "real-world" 25 km/l, with the air conditioning on, but the new Prius does. The damn thing is incredibly efficient. But it drives like mush. Yech.
Also, I'm a pretty big guy, and I'm guessing they'd have to pry me out of a Note with heavy machinery. The Prius is surprisingly roomy and comfy. But the crappy drive and long wait killed the deal for me.

But what aboot the Honda Insight. The fighter jet-like cockpit was quite attractive to me...

Local media reports that Toyota Motor Corp. is shutting 300 dealerships in Japan over the next three years.
Toyota is the world's biggest automaker and has 4,000 dealerships nationwide but is expecting its second straight year of losses for the fiscal year through March 2010.

The handy little button on the shifter knob will kill the OD faster than mashing the pedal to the floor. If you leave the OD off, AKA "sport" mode", you will get shit milage. Even with the OD my note averages about 13.5kpl and the wife's gets around 15, both are '09 "G" models. The CVT has a rubberized belt and all japanese cars are tuned for the soupy summer air which is why you notice a difference in performance depending on the day. Overall the note is a great little car and with the nismo parts it handles like a Golf but it can't compete with the prius's or insight's fuel consumption.
