French outdoor advertising company JCDecaux Tuesday said it had secured contracts in two different Japanese cities. Financial details weren't disclosed.
MAIN FACTS:
- MCDecaux, a joint venture between JCDecaux and Mitsubishi Corporation in which JCDecaux owns a 60% interest, has got a contract to provide street furniture for the city of Kyoto for a period of 20 years.
- This new advertising street furniture contract covers the installation, maintenance and marketing of 400 advertising bus shelters in Kyoto.
- JCDecaux also secured a contract to provide a self-service bicycle hire scheme to the city of Toyama for a period of 20 years.
- Toyama becomes the first Japanese city to adopt this new type of individual public transport.
- The project is subsidized by the city and by the Japanese Ministry of the Environment.
