Yeah, both he and George Burns lived to be 100 by cracking corny, but must admit, funny one-liners. Does comedy keep you young? Maybe, or it kills you at an early age (Belushi and company).

Keep laughing, it is the only way to make it through this mad world!

It's the life style.

Belushi was a child of the 60's. Live hard and party harder.

Bob, well, he was ancient. I'm suprised he hadn't kicked the bucket sooner. God Bless him.

Bob was a good man, with a wholesome sense of humor.. Virtually impossible to find someone like that these days. My favorite line:

Bing: "Give me two fingers of rock-gut, straight-up."
Hope: "I'll have a lemonade".. (Elbow from Bing) "IN A DIRTY GLASS!"

Do you guys know that Bob Hope made a ton of money off entertaining the troops? He sold those shows to NBC for a mint. He was one of the richest men in Hollywood and didn't get that way because he gave away the show. I would have thought more of Bob Hope had those shows been done gratis or if the TV rights went into a fund to care for injured Vets and their families.

This did not happen, however. The good old days weren't so good.

Have some smokes boys. Smoke 'em up. They are free for you boys.

Don't forget Eubie Blake,

"Blake lived on to be 100, playing piano and entertaining until the very end, which came on February 12, 1983."

http://chnm.gmu.edu/courses/magic/saloon/blake.html

You remember he was on a black themed TV show about a single preacher, but I forget the name of the show. I think entertainers live longer

Oh wait that was Jester Hairston who only lived till 98 and was on the show "Amen." I knew him from my days as a Choir director because he arranged Negro Spirituals.
