Though it's not wrong, I chuckled when I saw the word "regime" being used to describe the namby pamby poncy wussy wimpy DPJ.
I always associate "regime" with negative connotations (Miriam Webster tells me I'm wrong), but when I think of "regimes" it conjures up images of corrupt, backwater strongmen toting sub-machine guns (someone like Charles Taylor?) and certainly not the aliens and UFOs of Yukio Hatoyama (though his grandpa had been in thick with the militarists, so I guess he has strongman credentials in his lineage).

When I hear the word "regime," the first thing that comes to my mind is fascism or and totalitarian government. I remember when George W. Bush used to use the phrase "evil regime" when referring to toppling Sadaam Hussein's government. I suppose that term for DPJ is quite appropriate.
