No, one of his lesser known works, but nevertheless connected to, related to, associated with, and steeped in Duck Soup, I think.

Thank you. I just read through the thread and felt there was a distinct lack of....interesting.... photos of her.

Somehow I suspect the topless state of some Japanese talento is the least of these kids worries.

What am I doing wrong?

Postby BO-SENSEI » Mon Mar 09, 2009 1:06 pm

I am an American blond, blue-eyed, athletic, decently wealthy(not myself, my inheritance), fresh out of college and landed a sweet first job in Japan. And yet i can't find a girl to save my life.

It took me two seconds after going to a club to realize i am not going to find the kind of girl i am looking for.

Its it just me or are my standards for finding a girl too high. Whats wrong with having cute, smart, and funny as requirements for dating me. But i just chalk it up to the fact that i am 23, still very young, and the perfect girl out there for me is still in college or even high school.
I am not really sure where I am going, I just hope that when I get there, I can sit down because I am sure my feet will be tired.

well there you have it. Drop said requirement and have some fun. One day the right one will wander into your life, she most likely will not be found in a bar/club.

After 2 seconds in a club, none of the chicks would know any of those things about you (except for the hair). Give it some time. You'll have plenty of opportunities to meet different people who may or may not be the type hanging out at clubs.

Just knew about this thread. I can remember when I was very small, maybe about 8-9 years old, I wanted to marry a causasian man too, thinking the mixed race baby is so cute. But now I cannot understand an adult woman saying and thinking the same thing, finding someone from certain race only to marry because of wanting to have a hafu baby.. (I am refering to the first page of this thread)

1. Do you speak Japanese? If "no", then you have limited your hunt quite a lot..

2. Compare the girls you find at clubs with the girls you find in college. The latter is the clear winner...

3. You might be a blond, blue-eyed, athletic foreigner, but that doesn't necessarily make you good-looking! These qualities will of course help you a lot, but there are two more things that are very, very important. Your face and your height.. You don't have to be more than 6 feet to be considered tall, so many foreigners pass here. But the face... Well, go figure ;)

If you don't know Japanese, learn it now! After that, I can guarantee that you will find a good girl... ((unless you are shorter than the average Japanese man, and have a ugly face...))

Every urge to mate stems from the underlying instinct to pass on our genetic material.

I can't think of a single reason for choosing another person as a mate that isn't rooted in our inherent desire to increase our chances of successfully passing along our genes. Height, physical attractiveness, social status, wealth, etc. "Race" is just an extension of these things. I'm not saying whether it's right or wrong, I'm just saying that, essentially, it's no different than any other reason that you choose a particular mate. Don't kid yourself otherwise.

I agree with you one has the right to choose who to married to, regarding the partner's wealth, status, and race as in one of the criteria. I said I can't understand because I grow up and slowly realised that a marriage relationship is not that simple, from getting married to staying married and needless to say, having children is totally a diffrent story. And so I thought deliberately married certain race just for having beautiful children, is a childish thought from my own childhood.

I see what you mean. I'm just saying that wanting your offspring to be beautiful is not all that more childish than any other reason one gives for choosing a mate.

it's been shown that one reason people are attracted to someone 'exotic' (ie, foreign) is that it makes for a better genetic swap - more varied traits from which to produce stronger offspring. for the purposes of genetic propagation we're basically programmed to be selfish (look up selfish gene theory).

In fact, it is childish to give reasons for choosing a mate. But like I said, they have the "right" to choose how their companion like, as they are "ready-made" in the world (unfortunately, they (the chose and being chosen) keep changing no matter how best they think they had made the choice)

But I still think that the point I raised is more "childish", as it involve creating a new life of its own and require a huge resposibilities than just wanting the child to looked pretty to them.

I think that any offspring a couple have, will be beautiful to them, in any form and any conditions anyway.

But well, this maybe my "still childish" opinion anyway :)
