Tadatoshi Akiba Nut San

Postby Shibuya Me » Thu Aug 07, 2003 11:56 am

8O

So I get the Japan Times today...and what do I see? This Mayor Tadatoshi Akiba actually saying that Washington ( America ) worships nukes as GOD.

Well, firstly...that is not true in the least bit. It is true we use nukes. We use them to stop rouge countries from using nukes to blackmail everyone on Earth. 8O

I for one take issue with this idiot Mayor Tadatoshi Akiba. Look at history and ask yourself...why did America use nukes on Japan? 8O

Japan caused America to use nukes. You get what you give. America just gave a bigger piece of what Japan was dishing out to everyone at the time. :?

America has only one God. And United We Stand Mayor Tadatoshi Akiba! :P

By the way...which God does Japan worship? The almighty YEN.

Amen and Amen

Reasoning...not Seasoning!

Postby Shibuya Me » Thu Aug 07, 2003 12:43 pm

:D

One reason I take issue with the Mayor Foot in Mouth is
due to his remark concerning Washington and God.

You see, I feel very bad about America bombing Japan.
I love Japan! I have been here for a number of years.

I don't appreciate the fact that he continue the fight
between America and Japan. It is in the PAST! And Japan
started the war! Yes! It's true! 8O

In his report to the Japan Times, if he were to say something
like....

" Well, we all made a terrible mistake in the past when
we Japanese governmental representatives decided to
take over the world. We were taught a lesson. And we
are sorry for bombing Hawaii. That led us down a dark
path of destruction. It was our fault. Nukes made us
think of what we were doing. We should not have been
such fools....We were and we are sorry....forgive Japan
and help us to get our economy in order...we can not
even do that right....."

I know. I am living in a dream world. But my thinking is...
If the Japanese don't admit when they are wrong...let us
do it for them. :!:

The beauty of Internet blogging... Mr. Samson's letter radiates more heat than light, for Kristof is quoting Koichi Kido, Lord Privy Seal to Emperor Hirohito, not a mere "smattering of Japanese testimony". The Emperor made similar statements in his 1977 interview with reporters after his return from the United States: "it was regrettable, but it was a war after all" (quote taken from "The Age of Hirohito: In Search of a Modern Japan").

Another quote that I like is from Oppenheimer (attributed to him in the movie "Hiroshima") where he says, "atrocities go hand in hand with war, General, and what does that prove?" Comparing body counts like cord wood stacked up against a wall in no way justifies murder, by bombs or bayonet.

In God we trust

Postby Shibuya Me » Thu Aug 07, 2003 4:20 pm

What better way to express
that Americans value God
so much that we remind
the world that God comes
before money.

In Japan, Money comes before
God.

You can see this by the number
of Japanese people who choose
to kill themselves over
just going to church.

In God We Trust.

In God.

Show me where is says:

In Money We Trust

We are proud to say we love God

Postby Shibuya Me » Thu Aug 07, 2003 4:36 pm

:D

And Americans are proud to
let everyone know we love
God.

That is why it is indicated on
our money.

Money by the way is a legal
document.

Get it?

Are the Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu, Atheist citizens of the land of the free, real Americans? or an unworthy minority?

Well, if you don't believe.....

You said:

I said:

Yes. They are real Americans...if they are citizens of America.

And no... In God We Trust means in God We Trust. No matter who you are. However.............

The Atheist are going to hell so we just don't give a damn about them.
But we do try to get their heads out of their ass from time to time. But they think they are better than God. Like most Japanese!

Why don't you like Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu? ...Atheist don't count...so I understand your intention.

I think you're missing the point. Jews, Muslims, Buddhists and Hindus don't believe in the same "god" as Christians do. So, no, "in god we trust" is not a sentiment shared by all.

And your comment about trying to get atheists heads out of their asses is either trolling or a special kind of arrogance found among certain sects of Christianity.

One of the greatest thing about America is its respect for diversity. As someone who believes in no god I think your sentiment is bigoted. Why would I think I'm better than god if I'm not sure there is a god? "In God We Trust" hasn't been on US Currency for time immemorial any more than "One nation UNDER GOD" has been in the Pledge of Allegiance forever. The later was added simply to differentiate between the US and Soviet Union in the 1950s, as their loyalty oaths and our own were fundamentally similar. The US Pledge was also written by a socialist.

Regarding the use of the word God on currency: apparently it came about at the time of the Civil War as an attempt to win God's favor for the divided US, basically an appeal to Christianity for good luck. It fell out of use and "In God We Trust" appeared on paper money for the first time in 1957, at the height of the Cold War. Your god is used for political purposes, to defend capitalism- the right to make individual profit and own property. How holy is that?

From the US Treasury Web Site:
http://www.ustreas.gov/education/fact-sheets/currency/in-god-we-trust.html
You are probably a Christian. What if our Republic were not shattered beyond reconstruction? Would not the antiquaries of succeeding centuries rightly reason from our past that we were a heathen nation? What I propose is that instead of the goddess of liberty we shall have next inside the 13 stars a ring inscribed with the words PERPETUAL UNION; within the ring the allseeing eye, crowned with a halo; beneath this eye the American flag, bearing in its field stars equal to the number of the States united; in the folds of the bars the words GOD, LIBERTY, LAW.

This would make a beautiful coin, to which no possible citizen could object. This would relieve us from the ignominy of heathenism. This would place us openly under the Divine protection we have personally claimed. From my hearth I have felt our national shame in disowning God as not the least of our present national disasters.
