15cm of snow here yesterday and little more last night. the roads at least are clear but it's definitely miserable outside. a lovely mix of wet snow and rain falling now while the shit that fell yesterday is melting off a bit. grey skies and damp. think i'll replace my window with a viewscreen or brick it up.

50cm so far and it is coming down sideways and drifting, and no let up in sight. Yesterday the small local golf course opened. I guess it will be closed today. God I hate this crappy wet heavy snow!

March comes in like a lion, and goes out like a lamb.

10 degrees down here in the nation's southernmost prefecture. Windy as all fuck. Scattered rain, after some heavy wind and rain yesterday. It was 26 last week...

I guess this would be a good time to inform out resident Japan expert (hi, Jack!) of the little known fact that Japan has four seasons...

Well we ended up having the mother of all snow storms. In a 24 hour period we got more than 75 cm of snow. The last snow fall that big was more than 100 odd years ago. We literally have no more room to pile the snow, and now I have to go out and find a place to put all the crap the snow plow left in front of my house. I hate snow!

75 cm!! That's more than enough!
We got a "mere" 30 cm or so, but it's enough to be an incredible PITA. As you say, there's nowhere to put the stuff. Shovel it out of your driveway and block the road, sort of thing. Clear the pathway in front of the house then a new load will fall from the roof in precisely that spot. What a freakin' mess. And since there's so much of it it'll stick around for a while.

Ah well ... it'll make Spring* all that more enjoyable.

Usually takes me 35 minutes to drive the 30 kms home but last night with the expressways closed it was fucking ridiculous. Fortunately I know a few back roads so it only took me an hour.

Toyohashi calling...

No snow here (we don't have the money for this anymore)... but switched from a comfortable 24 under the sun to 5 in one day... Moonsoon rain with wind sending everykind of junk across the road. Had to counter steer against the wind because of slippery puddle of water while crossing some big streets... (while doing a whopping 40 kph). The rattling of the windows is getting unbearable.

And as usual the small river near the valor supermarket reached critical level on the first hour of this mayhem and we got firetruck on the bridge to monitor the incoming flood and give the alert. Which as an added fun make the PHS phone of my wife beep all night long (sending text-mail to raise and lower the alert level). I think it's kinda sorta a fifth season ? no ?

Sorry, I'm way too smart for that to happen. Oh, but please tell me why am I a piece of shit? Maybe because I don't obbey your orders? Is it because I stand up to you? Or maybe I don't say "yes sir!" to every shit you throw my way? Come on, I'm waiting.

Wow, that's some pretty sick repression of childhood trauma going on there.

I've noticed Jack seems to be losing his trolling ability. His answers don't even make much sense most of the time these days.

BTW, Jack, How do you define Anglo? Do you mean WASPs or people from the English speaking world in general?
