Remember.... 15 March 2000

Postby GomiGirl » Mon Mar 15, 2010 6:11 pm

March 15, 2000.

On this day little GG arrived in Tokyo to take up a new job and residence. The plan was to stay but two years. Had traveled here many times previous to this big move - first visit was in 1987.

Now here I am a decade later, married, pregnant, happy and thinking of applying for PR.

God help me - I am truly fucked. :D

HA! Life never follows the plan. You always find your self on a path that starts the way you want it when you take a slight turn only to discover years later that it has taken you to someplace you never expected. At least for you it's a good place. Congrats on the baby!

we have the same anniversary! on this day in 1998 my wife and i landed at KIX from ottawa on one-way tickets with our two dogs after being bumped up to first class from vancouver. from there we made our way to her home town in shimane and here we are still.

Had the same 2 years and get out plan (although I haven't gotten myself preggers...I was born w/o a uterus, but with a penis and a bunch of Y chromosomes as compensation) when I got here August 6, 1999 (Hiroshima anniversary). Only thing I've learned is the more I try to plan for things, the more unmanageable curve balls come my way.

Congrats on the pregnancy...name your first 37 children after me.

I turned up in early January 1993 and left at the end of September. Returned in June '95 and have been here since. The time certainly does go by quickly and it only seems to get faster...
And you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death

You got pregnant in 40 years old? Its the same as my mother. She got pregnant me in her 40 years old. When I was a kid, I had cursed her age, though...

Hiroshima day and my birthday, coincidentally enough. :shroom:

But to Take - I am not 40 yet. Not quite.

No, no, no! You're not 40 yet.

Actually, I'm speaking from experience. My mum was 49 when I was born. I should have been a mongoloid, but I just got the imbecility without getting the looks.
It's funny, though, I could have sworn mum is still a virgin even now. I must have been an Immaculate Conception, but, then again, aren't they all immaculate?
I'm so happy for you. You are going to adore being a mum despite the sore tits, constant need to pee, strained back and hormone rushes. Don't worry, it only gets worse from there!!!!!!
