Kyodo via Japan Today: Man arrested over headless body in suitcase, hints at killing foreigner
Police arrested a 60-year-old man early Friday on suspicion of abandoning the headless body of a woman that was discovered inside a suitcase at the side of the road in the mountains of Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture on March 29. According to investigators, the man came forward to police on Thursday night, and during questioning, he said that he had disposed of the body. The man, who identified himself as Seiichi Iinuma, a resident of Kanazawa, suggested he killed the woman, a foreigner in her 30s, with whom he became acquainted last spring through a magazine ad, according to investigators. The woman is said to have been in her 20s or 30s and about 155 cm tall. Her head was removed with a sharp bladed tool, and between two weeks to two months had passed since her death. The suitcase was discovered by a construction worker.
