Until now most reporting about the new government has consisted of a huge distraction of attention from what matters for the future of all Japanese, settling instead for the routine scandal mongering that serves no one.
We may blame this on ingrained habits.
I heard that not only commercialism is to blame for the the current state of reporting but also since privacy laws have become strict in Japan in-depth reporting has become more difficult so reporters turn to sensationalism. Interesting to see who those privacy laws were actually made for.
