"Butter Dog" is the term for a dog which has been encouraged to pleasure a woman by licking up butter smeared liberally over her erogenous zones. Understood by many to be primarily a Japanese phenomenon (there's a local wikipedia entry), it was first described to me as the pastime of wives of British RAF pilots after their husbands had been taken out of action down below. Their partner of choice on the voyage of discovery always seemed to be a labrador or golden retriever. It would be a surprise if other countries and cultures didn't have stories of similar practices.

Anyway, that's the background to the news that Japanese fashion magazine "men's egg" ran a feature in the recent May edition where a man was smeared with substances and given the attention of four dogs. This caused an uproar and the publisher was forced to recall the 200,000 print run from stores and issue an apology (Japanese) for running unsuitable, immoral material. I seem to recall a TV game show back in the '80's called Za Gaman where contestants would have to persevere through some difficult task. One episode had contestants tied to stakes spread-eagle and covered in butter being licked by cats. The contestants wore swimsuits. The little sandpaper tongues were pretty irritating as I recall watching.
