If you've already looked at the video clip above and thought "Blimey, she doesn't look quite so good at 40", imagine how the woman feels herself. Here's another short video clip of one of her later TV appearances. By this stage, it seems she was doomed to spend her life in public wear hats adorned with bananas. Hamamura talks about how she went to New York at the peak of her fame - she was one of the first Japanese artists to record in America after the war - and shows the ID document she needed to travel outside Japan. The presenters focus on how great she looked in her photo and how un-Japanese she seemed. Even allowing for natural modesty, Hamamura's reaction to cover up her face and say how she's changed seems slightly sad:

You can't stay young forever unless your Gaijin card say your name is Dorian Gray, news at 11'

Both are like... totally hot...

I framed through that video and she sports a pretty nice cameltoe in a couple of spots.

Yes, Mulby, I remember her. Saw her a Johnson AB and she may have officially retired in 1963, but she was around the base tour much longer.

I somehow got the strange feeling that some of youz were already around when mah great grand father was in the air-photo-recon... in 1916... (I still got his flight worthiness certificate and war ID's books.. can't find his prisonner card though... air recon was not a milk run back then either...)

- yes we had planes back then (even from Renault)...
- and cameras...
- and some in the army knew what to do with...
- While at the same time we had General Foch saying planes were toys who would never find any use in modern warfare...
- AND YES WE NAMED A FRACKING AICRAFT CARRIER AFTER THIS GUY...
