Shop built PCs? (Dos V, Two Top, etc)

Postby tokyojoe » Sun May 26, 2002 11:50 pm

I am debating about whether to upgrade my current PC
or buy a new one. I've noticed that shops like DOS V
and Two Top are selling their own vanilla PCs. The
specs look good and the price is certainly cheaper
than the Compaqs of the world. But, how good is the
quality? Does anybody have experience buying these
PCs? I'd appreciate hearing what people think of them
and if there are any other shops worth looking at.
Thanks. :D

Tsukumo PC's

Postby grandmastergaijin » Sun Jun 02, 2002 12:08 pm

I bought a "Tsukumo Original PC" a few weeks ago. I've been pretty happy with it other than a small QA problem I discovered when I got home: they FORGOT to put the memory in...! 8O

I called them up the next day and they said to bring it in to the shop. I told one of my Japanese friends about it and she called them up, gave them a good chewing out and two hours later they were bowing and scraping their way to my apartment with a new one.

Other than that, it`s a pretty good system. The specs to price ratio is much better than what you would get with a name-brand system. There are about four Tsukumo shops in Akihabara. The honten has the best stock. They'll discount down a bit if you ask them.
