North Korea is getting a serious ass kicking...
And you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death

Any bets that North Korea threatens war with Portugal tomorrow?

I saw about 10 minutes of the game's first half in the sauna earlier. The NKs weren't playing too badly really, seemed to be holding their own fairly well. Was 0-0 when I stopped watching. Either the Portuguese cranked it up a few notches or the NKs totally fell apart... I'm guessing ol' Kommie Kim isn't going to be doing them any favours when they get home. :(

The Ivory Coast would have to score a lot of goals against North Korea to go through. Portugal looks likely to advance, even with a loss to Brazil. If Brazil were to blow out Portugal and the Ivory Coast did the same to North Korea, things could be different.

Betcha when they get back home, someone will have to answer as to why was it possible to suffer such a gargantuan ass-whippin'! Noticed how good and healthy, well-fed the NoKo team looked?
That all might change real soon. Anyway, Kudos to Portugal, great game.

Damn, North Korea got smashed. And not in the good way.

How about Italy's inability to win arguably the easiest group of the World Cup? Pretty surprising results all around so far.

Say what you will but I like the way the North Koreans played. They didn't flop, when they got tackled they got up and kept running. That is the way you should play. One poor bugger slide and looked like he slide and either broke his wrist or sprained it, but got up and kept going.

North Korea is not really known for Class A Hollywood acting.

Leave that to the Italian film industry, aka the Azzuri.

And the Oscar goes to...

I liked the title even though it's someone's name. Kaka red card.

Hey, you gotta hand it to Kaka. His reaction was 100% class. I know if someone fucked me up the arse like that, I'd certainly react a helluva lot more furiously. The guy's a champion. Must have come from his experience as an FG.

*turns on the TV to watch*

I shall expect a good pelting with eggs and rotten tomatoes when they get back... and Domenech's head on top of the fence of the Elysee. In fatc, it's probably better if they stay in Africa.

Alas, there is hope yet.

===============================

Vuvuzelas going the way of Africa's teams?

If South Africa are eliminated from the World Cup later today then there is speculation the organisers might use it as an opportunity to ban vuvuzelas from grounds.

Until now, such as move has been dismissed as FIFA has repeatedly insisted vuvuzelas are an integral part of the South Africa experience, even though many fans, players and broadcasters have opposed their noisy presence.

But the Daily Mail claims the possible exit of the hosts, along with the bulk of the African team, has resulted in informal discussions among senior FIFA and SA organising committee executives about a possible ban.

I wonder what it's like in Shinjuku given the Nigerian clubs and street touts are in close proximity to Korea town.

That sounds like a request for a reccy mission... I haven't been out and about in Kabukicho recently. I was planning on taking some friends around this weekend though.

I will report if there is anything interesting.

There was a huge party in the streets of Kabukicho & Okubo after Korea beat Italy in 2002. It was free drinks and food until the early hours.

Because the game ended on a weekday albeit in this frickin pouring rain, I doubt anything will happen.

Domenech the French coach would not shake hands with the S. African coach, Carlos Parreira, after losing the match. I hope they shit on his shaggy head when he goes back to France. Nobody likes that bitch ass...the players or his countrymen.

That said it's not only Domenech's fault... the players could have still carried on but they didn't. A headline a few days ago in some French rag rightly called them "deserteurs". They deserve all the heat they get for forgetting why they were in South Africa in the first place.

No doubt. At the end of the day, if you can't get it done on the pitch then your going to get the boot and go home. Looking at it in retrospect, the entire French team's run up to the World Cup was marred with controversy. For the French to only score one goal in the first round is truly a farce.
