Actually, I kinda like it, because it means cheaper long-distance tolls on every day of the week, which will spread out some of the congestion too. Not much benefit if it's only a short trip though.

The only "issue" is that the DJP has thrown yet another curve ball to confuse the the general populace, especially since they're basically contradicting their manifesto (again). They really can't make up their freakin' minds. Should probably be renamed the "Fudge Party."

Yeah but where is the Y2000 flat rate fee you promised to go with this? I hate the explanation that since Minshuto said they would make the roads free, the idea of cutting the rate down to a flat rate of Y2000 at any time is a breach of faith. In the meantime you must pay the full amount unless you want to drive on Saturdays or Sundays. What a stupid explanation. Why didn't they just say, we want the money, and we won't give you a discount unless it kills us, and even then we won't.
