Hikari portable

Postby canman » Mon Jun 28, 2010 7:41 pm

Are any of you out there using the NTT Hikari portable system. It looks promising. I already have a flets account, so it looks like I can rent this little bugger for about Y315 a month. Unfortunately the information is all Japanese, so I'm wondering how useful it is. Also I asked a friend who works for NTT and he told me there is a month to a two month waiting list. :(

This definitely looks interesting, but you need a SIM to use it as a 3G router.

There seem to be two versions, one locked to Docomo and one unlocked version that is currently usable on B-Mobile. The B-Mobile plan is cheaper but their coverage areas are limited and the performance is slow.

You should be able to walk into any Docomo shop and ask them for more information about it...

So basically it would be like getting another cell phone, with a packet tsukai hodai plan. I see. Well I will march into DOCOMO and find out straight away.
