But Tokyo is a huge and cosmopolitan city.. hardly anybody is actually from Tokyo so you are sure to meet people from not only all over Japan but all over the world. It is not that unusually that you met somebody from Singapore.

IWhat is your take on Singaporeans? Or on successful people that are Buddhists ?

Once a year at JETRO for 4-6 weeks I teach an post-grad course in IT with mostly Singaporean teachers. They're an wildly over-educated lot and VERY talkative (even by my educational and motor-mouth standards). Aside from their horrid climate, I would gladly relocate there. The food's 10,0000% better.

Yep, I could see the grease aspect from a Japanese perspective. I just view Japan as: Life with no spice.

What train goes from Shinjuku directly to Yokohama?

When was the last time you were in Japan? This is a great line - although only recently opened!! I use it all the time for work as I often have meetings in Yokohama.

Harumph! I was in Japan in May but I didn't go to Shinjuku. I did make a special trip to Yokohama to visit my favorite ramenya. Well worth the time from Tokyo although they changed the interior around so damned much it lost its atmosphere.

That is hilarious! That is a must share. I have a non-speaking friend who finds .swf files from here and often asks me to explain them. Sometimes it is better to NOT speak Japanese.....
