And you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death

This happened at the beach near here. But the airmen were in an area that is off limits. They were jumping from 10 meter high rocks. The area around there has some really big waves and it seems they weren't able to climb out of the water and kept getting pushed into the rocks. They then decided to swim out into the ocean around this big rock and try to make it back to shore, but this guy wasn't a good enough swimmer and unfortunately didn't make it back.

Is that out by Tanesashi or Shirohama?

AO it was between Shirahama and Tanesashi, the are is called Gokosuka. But as I said in the other posting, it is off limits for swimming.

I think I know EXACTLY where they were. I jumped off those same rocks with some other AF guys when I was in the AF. Even though it's off limits, there was a rope that someone attached there so people could climb up and out.

It's a small cove and VERY dangerous. You must be a strong swimmer with the right conditions to do it.

That is it exactly. You have a good memory. Really powerful waves come into that cove, that was the problem.

One of the most foolish things I've ever done. I had to take my glasses off to do it, so I couldn't really see where I was going, I just jumped as hard as I could off the rocks.

After I climbed back up, I wouldn't jump again. Once was enough.
