As for the no Japanese class - who the fucks surprised, I'm an Aussie and I know that Chicago public schools are run down and are being run down more and more, it's called the US' slow meltdown, soon Chicago and other cities will be like Detroit.

In Oz they're finding it more hard to get uni students enrolling in Asian language courses, the boom is over. Aussie students have seen uni fees rocket over the past 5 yrs and Asian languages like Japanese, Korean and Indonesian are more and more seen as the road to diddly squat.

Korean - most sane people don't give a copy of a flying fuck about there, they go to get money and get out and most of em don't want to learn the language cause as my friend said, Korea's such a fucking annoying place and the language is part of it.

Indonesia - honest, why the fuck do you want to learn the language of a place so fucking uninteresting, with as much 'culture' to appreciate as Korea, full of people who fuck over neighbouring countries and get shit done against them because my govt didn't want to 'offend a country with so many Muslims' and so close to us etc etc.

Learning the language of peasants who also have some very nasty Muslim extremists among them is about as appealing to Aussie students as cholera.
