Hmm ... read it, but I'm still not sure what the writer is trying to say. Sort of an aimless dissertation written more for the purpose of being published than to actually clarify a point.

Although, to be honest, I stopped taking the guy seriously as soon as I read this line, which was at the end of the first paragraph:

There are fewer Japanese now than there were 5 years ago. If the trend continues, eventually there will be none.

Eventually there will be none? At first I thought this must have been some sort of lame attempt at making a joke, but I couldn't find any evidence to support that hypothesis.

Bill Bonner has been predicting imminent decline of the West . . . for as long as I can remember.
Never criticize anyone until you've walked several kilometres in their shoes.
Because

1. You're now several kilometres away; and

2. You've got their shoes.

ya, writer was just rambling on...

The Japanese used comfort women before, now it is time for us FG to comfort their women... I did my share, i have 2 kids, that keeps the population at a stand still, have one more and I added to the population.

I wonder how much the Sr. crew here added to the Japanese population?

Forgot where I read it, was either in Time or Newsweek about 4-5 years ago, but some demographers set the date (using present population growth parameters) of the death of the last Japanese person on earth as sometime just after 3300. Maybe the demographers were Chinese or Korean.

Academic though, innit.
The normally sane person would at least entertain the possibility that a few other parameters might change in the meantime. Like the world will end, or something of mild significance like that.

Yeah, well, we're all toast in 2 years, 3 months, and 11 days anyway, so no need to cut back on the tonkatsu.
