Yomiuri: Toyama hairdressers, government join forces to prevent suicide
Hairdressers are often said to be great confidants, but Toyama stylists are making it official by taking part in a city government campaign to prevent suicides. The city government is embarking on the nation's first attempt to prevent suicides by having hairdressers act as mediators between their customers and psychological counselors. Participants will receive a sticker to display in their shops showing their cooperation. They also will receive guidebooks introducing counseling services for a variety of problems that may result in suicides, such as difficulties related to child-rearing and financial problems...more...
