The Japanese Gov. are dumber than you could even imagine, with whats happening in China relations as well, they have learned nothing of their aggressive history and are starting the same again, they have the largest international fishing waters in the world and their territorial claims spread too far and wide.

destroying the future of the few young left in japan.

Yeah, Japan needs to be careful or Russia will impose diplomatic sanctions, and cut off their supply of strippers ...

not quite sure what posting pics of the flags of the 'young Russia' political party holding a 'Kuril' poster has to do with this, but whatever.

sakhalin and the kurill islands are russian. they're not about to give it to japan and if japan tried to do something about it, they'd just be squished like a bug by the big boot of russia. if they want to get pissy about islands, then they should put more effort into getting the americans out of okinawa. that's prime real estate for vacation resorts there, and could get loads of hawaiian tourists to come over. then again, with the yokoso! japan program such a major FAIL, maybe they should just leave all as it is and work on figuring out how to stop the sinking of Kansai airport instead.

China's doing their best to make sure that Okinawan real estate agents don't get to peddle any "used only on Sundays" ex-landing strips. Any bets on who will be the next "problem" country for Japan. We've been through Aussies trying to cozy up to their whale friends against Japan, the US in Okinawa, China also down south, Russia up north (and we all know that the Russians are still po'ed about that Alaska deal...wanna see the flick Red Dawn together, next time you're in town?). Obvious bet is Korea, but.....now accepting 100-1 odds on places like Swaziland, Palau, and Antarctic penguins.

Japan is surrounded by such 4 states, Chin, Koreas, Ruskie which cannot think of objects logically and objectively. Whatever these dudes are whining, Senkaku, Takeshima and South Kuril absolutely belong to Japan. But originally these disputes were set by U.S.A to isolate Japan in North East Asia.

Whatever you think of these competing claims, Japan is by no means objective or logical in its own diplomacy and that's one reason these problems still fester.

I think Japan has some valid territorial claims and some poor ones but they appear to have no coherent strategy for making their case or winning international support.

Very true. "Coherent strategy" doesn't seem to be an aspect of any part of the current political landscape in J-land. The whole system is so factious and unstable it's a wonder that anything gets done at all. The idea that collaborative focus on issues might actually solve some of the country's problems doesn't seem to have occurred. Self-interest is clearly more important.

These are the words that did it:
1. Japan is by no means objective or logical in its own diplomacy
2. no coherent strategy
3. international support

them words just dont fit in with Japanese politics...
